Living in Mandalay, I have yet to come across a single restaurant with anything labeled “gluten free” on the menu. I think that’s part of the reason I was so impressed by Fahrenheit in Yangon. The menu was marked GF and vegetarian for those of us with special eating needs. AND more importantly, the food and drinks were great! The restaurant is Asian-Mexican fusion and it is wonderful!
I had a gluten free taco and a classic margarita and really hit the spot for Mexican food. The rice for the taco had good mix of flavorful spices and the chicken was moist and also nicely seasoned. The veggies were the perfect fresh crispness to compliment the rest of the taco. I would have liked a gluten free corn tortilla to wrap it all up with, but it was truly delicious as is.
In Myanmar, often alcoholic drinks have some rough proportions that make you cringe. Not true of Fahrenheit. The margarita was perfectly balanced. My friend tried the Fahrenheit blue, which was also fantastic, maybe even better. It had a nice berry taste but not too sweet or too alcoholic. If you’re even in Yangon, try Fahrenheit!
